Plantation: Grow Together: Together We Plant: Together, we reverse the climatic condition

To resolve our planet Earth’s biggest challenges, we, the team of Grow Together, have decided to act, not talk. Often, we see, face, and read in the news how drastically global warming has started and accelerated rapidly. No wonder, in the late 19th century, the increase in greenhouse gas emissions had already taken place and caused the temperature on Earth to rise significantly. Today, we cannot blame animals or other creatures, but humans, who are solely and wholly responsible for causing it. Indeed, we have made plenty of inventions through our creativity, but not enough to prevent the subsequent and drastic damage caused by deforestation, pollution, climatic imbalance, and over-exploitation of resources. These damages have further led to an imbalance in the ecosystem, habitat loss, environmental degradation, and biodiversity decline.

Devoid of the choices we have made and are still in the process of making, we are not putting enough effort into restoring nature. Yes, nature, ever thought about why it is becoming unbearable during summers when our kids are supposed to enjoy their vacation? Why do we feel extremely exhausted while working or doing our daily chores? Why do winters still feel warmer instead of cold and cozy? Why do we drink polluted or chlorinated water? Why do we feed on chemically grown fruits, vegetables, and pulses? Most importantly, why do we breathe contaminated air every day? We know the answers, aren’t we?

Deforestation

Deforestation is the biggest problem for the world, causing global warming as the no. 1 cause, soil erosion, increased rate of floods, water cycle disruption, biodiversity loss, underground water depletion, and wildlife extinction etc. While humans cut down trees for self-benefit, it has adversely hit us economically, as fewer and fewer people benefit from the natural resources that our ecosystem provides, resulting in increasing poverty. Today, not just humans but wildlife is also at stake; birds and animals have also lost their homes and are on the verge of extinction. Cattle do not have much grazing land. However, plants and trees provide vital resources such as building materials, medicines, shade, and food. They also provide oxygen, without which no living organism can survive.

Our Contribution

The Grow Together team is aware of the current scenario and how global warming and several other causes have hampered all living organisms on Earth. Therefore, on 18th August 2024, after understanding, analyzing, and discussing the increasing environmental crisis, the Grow Together team planned to plant at least 100 plants to get a tiny yet significant impact on the environment, society, and all living beings. While Grow Together has done multiple projects for mankind, we felt proud to dedicate our time and efforts to the ecosystem, while we pledged to continue working.

However, now comes the big celebrative day when our plans are finally going to get executed on 25th August 2024, at around 9 am, as planned before, we took a minivan loaded with more than 100 medicinal plants such as Neem, Karanja, Tulsi, Guduchi, Patuli and several other Ayurvedic potent plants, located behind Sikharchandi temple, Patia, Bhubaneswar. Why medicinal plants? Planting any plant gives us oxygen, improves the air quality, regulates the water cycle, etc.,

but we chose to plant medicinal plants because they offer multiple health benefits apart from all the benefits discussed above. The medicinal plants help prevent various diseases, promoting sustainable development, and are highly rich in therapeutic ingredients that have already been proven and used for ages. Nonetheless, it wasn’t just the trustees of Grow Together,

but also employees, local gardeners, and hired laborers who united to plant 100 medicinal plants. To our surprise, many locals observing our measures got inspired and joined us instantly. This day was not only a win-win day for the Grow Together Team but also a productive and profitable day for society, where people felt inspired, encouraged, and became aware of why we must plant plants and trees, as it is the only way to save the environment.

The motto to work and grow together was accomplished when our mission of trying to restore the ecosystem was accomplished by being united. As the old adage goes, together we succeed, but apart we fail.
